Welcome to EMsafespace

~ a home for those effected by disaster to reflect, relate, & recover ~

EMsafespace, originally known as the Emergency Responders Community or ERC, was first created in response to a call-out from Responders both on-the-ground and virtual.  Emergency Management workers around the globe have unique needs for a safe space to share, learn, and diffuse...a place to let-go & help each other...intellectually, physically, emotionally...

We at EMsafespace recognized the same needs for those in the public realm from journalists to survivors.  Now, both workers and the public can have the opportunity to privately and/or publicly work with & through their experiences.  The community includes everything from private groups dealing with trauma and PTSD to personal journals to public and private groups and forums.

EMsafespace is supported by a partnership between USHAHIDI, the Standby Task Force (SBTF), and Info4Disasters, and is home to the SBTF's Empathy Team.  Organizations, training centers, schools, and institutions are free to utilize the environment for their groups as well.  We wanted to provide a public place for open dialogue and a private space for confidential sharing & caring.

This environment also provides a home and workspace for fully featured electronic portfolio system for creating personal online portfolios for job hunting and EM/SMEM assignments, support events, and learning communities.  Please join us by clicking Register, or login, in the upper right-hand side of the screen to use the workspace below to explore EMsafespace and it's services.

Blessings & peace to you all,
